brake calipers on disk conversion
I just got a 1950 chev pickup and it has a disk brake conversion on the stock solid axle. The truck was in a divorce so couldn't get any info. The left caliper has a casting number of GM54 4839 and the right 54 74338. The right 43 could be a 48. The mounting pins are about 7 inches apart and the rotors are 11" Any help with what these were used on would be great as I want to replace parts and don't know what year model they are.

Re: brake calipers on disk conversion
Most of them are 70-77 Camaro calipers. You said it was an 11" rotor so I am assuming it has a 5-lug conversion also.

Re: brake calipers on disk conversion
Well I pieced my disc conversion together and I have 79 Firebird rotors (11 inch) and 78 Cadillac Seville calipers.

Re: brake calipers on disk conversion
I got 70 camaro calipers and they look the same. Will know when I go to fit them tomorrow at the shop. Thanks all.
