Re: 73 C10 "Airport HOG"
Thanks. What's the quickest way to get the truck out the air? Thinking about cutting the front springs a coil and buying the summit racing 2.5 drop kit for the Rear. which is some brackets that will lower the rear leaf springs. any suggestions?

Re: 73 C10 "Airport HOG"
right on!!!
i'd start by cutting the front coil as planned and buy a western chassis flip kit for the rear. ($89.00) and see where she sits. just cut 1 coil at 1st and then 1/2's after that to get her level. the flip is going to drop about 5-6" in the rear and 1 coil is "usually" 2".

Re: 73 C10 "Airport HOG"
Thanks so much, where would I get the western flip kit and what does it contain? I saw a similiar kit on summit racing for $49 for the rear.

Re: 73 C10 "Airport HOG"
cool truck!!
speaking from my experience, cutting more than 1 coil off will make it ride kinda bad. you can get 1",2", or 3" drop springs from summit for @ $99 get the 2" or 3" springs and some 2 1/2" spindles with the rear flip and you will be golden. I cut one whole coil plus 3 inches of the next one and my '80 bottoms out on most medium sized dips and bumps, not only that but it doesn't sit level either

Re: 73 C10 "Airport HOG"
thats a nice truck, you have done good! my daughter's 77 c-10 was a navy flightline truck it even had the checkers painted on the roof. it looked just like your's when we bought it . keep up the good work . on my 74 i cut 1 1/2 coils off the front spring's and it came down 4 1/2" , if i was doing it again i wouldn't go more than 1 coil , 1 1/4 maybe. on the rear i used 4" shackles and moved the front spring hangers up on the frame 3 1/2 " and it sits about a inch higher in the back so now i am taking the thick helper spring out , that should set it fairly level. i hope.
