how do i remove the bellhousing from my truck? i already removed the 3 speed trans but i had trouble getting the entire bellhousing out, i removed all the bolts. should it just drop out?

there should be pins that line the housing up to the back of the motor.
make sure the bellhousing is unbolted from the frame as well.
put a 2X4 or piece of wood on your floor jack, and gently take the pressure off of it by jacking up the motor by the bottom of the oil pan.
some times the starter will need to be pulled as well ,just to get it out of the way.
after all that it should come right out.
the pins are onlyabout a 1/2 inch long.

just to clarify: the bellhousing serves as the rear motor mount, so you might need to pull the mounts off the frame, and the bellhousing to get them out of the way for it to slip out.
After the bellhousing is out, if you need your jack back, I usually bolt a couple bolts back into the back of the motor, and rest them on a 2X4 or a piece of metal set across the frame rails.

On my 64, there was not room to remove the bellhousing even after removing all of the bolts as well as the two transmission mounts. On the flip side, I did learn that you can replace the clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing without removing the bellhousing. If you remove the lower inspection cover from the bellhousing, there's plenty of room to reach up inside, remove the bolts, and drop the pressure plate & clutch disc straight down out of the bottom, then re-install.

Thanks for the tips guys. Now I did get the trans crossmember out and the bellhousing. Now my problem is getting out the clutch disc and flywheel. Thats the only things still on there. It was a 3 on the tree and I am making it automatic with a th350. Any ideas how to get that clutch and flywheel out??

well they are just bolted to the crank... should be some bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel, and when that is off the flywheel is bolted to the crank in the center.
