High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
I might be in need of a high-hump trans cover for a little extra trans to floor clearance in the cab of a 64. I know they were made for the 67 & later years, what about pre-67?

The high hump tranny covers were available in the '60-'66 Chevy/GMC trucks, that were equipped with the factory SM420 or SM465 4-speed floor shift transmission. If you are converting from a factory low hump tranny cover, you will need the corresponding front cover, that is factory spot-welded to the firewall. I have these items, if you are still looking for them. |

Yes scot there are both high and low trans covers. I have a high one if you are in need. However it does have the hole for the 4 speed.

Re: High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
Is there enough material to bolt 'both' pieces in vs. one being spot welded & the other a bolt-on?

Re: High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
yes you can bolt both pieces in, just need the clip nuts and drill some holes....that is how ours was bolted in....I have one also (with the hole for the shifter) that may be for sale, gotta check with someone first.....

Re: High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
I have spoken w/a couple of individuals concerning these parts but haven't got confirmations yet. I definitely do need one 'set', so if you read this & have 'em, let me know.

Re: High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
Ok, I have the set. I honestly dunno what it is worth. I would be willing to do some swapping if you have anything interesting. I also might be able to bring it down to you or meet you somewhere in the middle if you are interested.

Re: High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
If I am going from the factory 3 on the tree to a 200R tranny will the factory hump work and if not what hump needs to go in there?

Re: High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
200r4's are the same physical size as th350's so either trans tunnel 'hump' should work. I swapped in an aftermarket front crossmember & I'm using a 700r4 trans & thought the extra clearance was a good idea.

Re: High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
Thanks to you too, SCOTI
linkbelt......the 3 speed trans hump should work fine for your 200R4, as SCOTI has stated.

Re: High Hump Trans Tunnel Cover??
Since it looks like you guys are all taken care of, I'm going to hi-jack this thread.
I also am in need of a high hump tunnel. Its for my 67 and I'm trying to fit a ZF 6S-650 under it. Its basiclly the 6spd manual out of the HD Silverados a couple years back.
