Re: Horrifying Craigslist find!

I get that different people have different visions and that sometimes the unorthodox turns out to be really cool, but I think this truck is pretty much outside of most everyone's sense of aesthetics.

Re: Horrifying Craigslist find!

If the body lines matched and it was painted I dont think it would look as bad.. I bet it rides better than a normal shortbed though.

Re: Horrifying Craigslist find!

what would work with that truck is a set of paddle tires.. that is the look of a tractor puller, or sand racer.

funny thing is is that this mod is more common than you think, another guy on the board has a truck like this(he changed the bed right away), and I have heard of one other guy doing/buying one of these...

and yes as it sits it does not look good...

Re: Horrifying Craigslist find!

Looks like someone wanted a shortbed without shortening the frame. I actually saw one of these abortions in Montana. I guess its all about different strokes for different folks.

It looks like someone ran up and kicked square in the ass. Isn't that what makinthekrew or whatever his name was going to do? Makes it look like a mid 90s ford bed.

Re: Horrifying Craigslist find!

I cut mine but I cut the appropriate amount out of the front of the wheel well and behind. That dude lopped a chunk out of the rear and called it good. I guess he was scared of cutting the 12" out of the frame in front of the wheel well and welding it back together. He should have just dropped it down and called it good. I have nothing good to say about the fiberglass front so I'll end here. Not my style.

Re: Horrifying Craigslist find!

Long wheel base short bed. That makes about as much sense as "Jumbo Shrimp" or "military Intellegence".

To me that just spells "half-ass".

There. done with rant.

Re: Horrifying Craigslist find!

Ok, no offense to him or anybody else that might have tried that, but please, please do not ever do that again. If your going to cut it and make a long to short please take measurements and for gods sake make sure you do realize what you going to end up with before you hack it up and kill a half decent truck.
