My Classic 65 Budget C10
This is my first post I finally got me a Classic C10 to play with!
The guy worked with me and let me pay a few payments. Nice find I think 900 bucks.... 1965 Fleetside straight six 3 on tree runs and drive great brakes stick a lil so it needs brake work heads been worked new batt carb looks nice new belts new master jelly jar but i want to change it to a dual goes into all the gears real nice all lights work has rockers rotted and floor board corners on fire wall and some fender rot other than that shes good to go... Motor is a 250 i think,What ya guys think? For now im just gonna throw on stock steelies wich i have and make my own white walls lower it as much as i can maybe drop springs in back cut springs up front new shocks and fix brakes then winter take cab off and clean it up fix the rot maybe start some metalic flat paint job...... http://s623.photobucket.com/albums/tt314/sswagon/ Last edited by 816allen; 08-29-2009 at 03:14 AM. |

Re: Newbe here first classic Proud owner of a 65 Fleetside
Feels pretty good to score one of these classics. I have a 63 and 64 shortwide and I am still pinching myself. My sons 64 is almost done and Im not sure the future of the 63 yet. Thinking about doing a rat rod kind of a paint job and giving it to my other son. Congrats on your new truck.

Re: Newbe here first classic Proud owner of a 65 Fleetside
Thanks guys its good to know I'm going the right way with this truck ya its a lil ruff now but in time she will be smooth and painted even better...
I was waiting on the rad cap comment haha ya she fits like a Glove man thanks again for that! Also ya i did do it in the truck besides the valve cover i took that out and stripped all the paint off of it sanded it primer then paint a few times... As for the tape off job nope no tape haha I used these paper towels from work which is just like paper covered up what i didn't want painted took off a few parts painted them on the side over night type of thing man if i over sprayed which was once on the starter i just put the towel over it then painted again... Don't have to be crazy tape off job really if you look at it you would think so but its not just a careful paint here and there and bam 10 times better Ive done this on other cars before just lil things never whole motor but these motors are so open and simple its easy to paint under hood! I wish you guys could see it in person looks WAY better in person looks like i just bought it! Thanks again for the complement's i always wonder if it looks like a POS to people or if its a cool looking classic like i see it I love it either way lol
