Fell in love with this truck today..... uh-oh!
Love at first sight some might call it..... I've been hunting craiglist for a decent 73-87 4X4 for a daily driver..... somehow I spotted this one for sale in the next town. 87 Scottsdale K20, 4X4, Creeper Box, bench seat, long fleet, S-O-L-I-D. Almost rust free..... and thats underneath the thing! The windeshield said "new motor", so it might be a 350, which is sick. Problem is, no one was around and no price. I am DYING to know what the price is. It's at a towing place and they werrent open. I guessed they ask for $5500? Price guesses maybe? What do you guys think? If it turns out to be as nice as it looks I'll have to try to just take out the loan and take it home!!!!

Re: Fell in love with this truck today..... uh-oh!
WOW. Turns out the asking price is $3K!! I'm going to look at it after work. All the guy told me was that it has a new motor with 0 miles on it, and it has a leak between the tranny and tcase.

Re: Fell in love with this truck today..... uh-oh!
Well, I just got back. I inspected it further, and it looks like all it needs is that leak fixed, driveable as is though. Im 90% positive I'm gonna go for it. I test drove it.... and it was so cool. It's gonna be way cooler driving that thing to and fro than my trashed '95 Jetta, just gotta pay for all the gas. Guy says he'd take 2500 for it as is, but he wouldnt go any lower when I tried to bargain with him. We will see what the next week brings..... Took a few more cell phone pics, I'll upload them.

I don't know how popular those are in NY, but here it would be gone in a few seconds at that price. Don't let it slip away!

Looks like a nice truck; the price makes it look even better. If the leak is the only problem, that is a steal.

Re: Fell in love with this truck today..... uh-oh!
Inspected it further today, and took a longer test ride. Everything checks out except the following - Driver door lock doesnt work, left turn signal doesnt cancel, fuel gauge doesn't work, and of course the tranny to tcase leak. Also, I couldnt pull the passenger seat belt out of the housing, it was locked where it comes off the floor, that should be easily fixed. I took a couple pics with my camera instead of my phone. I offered the guy $2300 and left my number. If he doesnt go for it, I'll still buy it for $2500, no questions asked.
