Found this for cheap...beat up though...

This piece is about 2 hrs away from home....runs, no brakes....says its a 292

2nd owner...original farm truck

Dash looks cut, even though he said it wasn't

Not sure if a stepper is my style.....

Re: Found this for cheap...beat up though...

The radio hole in the first truck has been cut and a radio delete plate will not cover that hole. Otherwise, it looks ok depending on the money. I'd pass just because it's not a fleetside, lol.

The second truck looks more interesting. Fleetside, straight aluminum grill, "runs", and from what I can tell, relatively straight body and rust free. That's not bad money either, but I base that on East Coast stuff.

Re: Found this for cheap...beat up though...

You seem to have a preference for 63. I can respect that. But you would consider those other years right? What are they again 5-4-6 or something like that. Don't want to start that argument over again!

Re: Found this for cheap...beat up though...

I really like the '63. I like the windshield, the dash, the suspension and of course the grill!!

Seems like the perfect year, before they changed everything to a truck that looks the same for the next 3 years.

Re: Found this for cheap...beat up though...

First truck has the gauge dash, the second has the BBW looks like a deluxe steering and fleetside. Second has the dash painted up deluxe. Wish I was closer I'd buy it. Your not finished shopping yet. Perhaps someone on the site has an unfinished project for you.

Re: Found this for cheap...beat up though...

yeah it seems 63 is the way to go if you like the knee knocker cab, but don't wantthe headaches of the torsion bars,X frame , and hydraulic clutch....
I love that 1500$ bbw I have been patiently shopping the local CL for a nice 63 bbw long fleet for a future project.... by the time I find one I might have enough money saved up.. that is if I quit trying to buy every cheap truck I find...

Re: Found this for cheap...beat up though...

He is asking $1500. Dosen't mean he is going to get it. Offer him $1200. The worst he can say is no.. And if you get a step truck you can get a fleet bed. Ask me how I know.. Also all you guys fighting over the trucks. They are all great in their own way. I wanted a 63 because it is my birth year. I have what I have because that is what was avalible and I couldn't pass up the last truck for the money and the non rust issues,.

I think you are right John, not sure if that stepper is you. In your case it needs flat black, wide white walls and hauls _ss! lol
