Welp..My 63 Burb sold...
At first I was testing the waters, then I found a super nice and clean, 61 Yellowstone polished camper, and my wife was in love.
So I promised her Id do whatever I could to buy it. If you know what these vintage little campers bring, at least nice ones, you understand. So I listed it on evilbay, and it sold. Turns out it was a guy I talked to about it at Columbus Goodguys a few weeks ago. He saw it and scooped it up. So we delivered it tonight to him and I scooped up the 63 100 dolla bills he was holding. I was hoping for more, but in this crappy economy, especially around NE Ohio, I guess I should be happy. So anyway, like Cheif, Im out for now. I'll be snooping around still, but laying low. Im looking to buy something else with my remaining funds, but going to pickup up the camper tomorrow, then I'll find a new toy...

Re: Welp..My 63 Burb sold...
Thanks Dino, but shipping would kill it for me.
Im down to a short list of 5-6 choices. All dont belong here though My wife and kids are hot after the 58 Chevy brookwood wagon I found.... So we'll see. Id love to find a solid but heavily patina'd 63-66 SWB, just to bag and drive everyday.

Re: Welp..My 63 Burb sold...
My problem is I have some sort of disease. Ive been with my wife 20 years next month, I just turned 40 today, and in those 20 years, Ive had, roughly give or take, 50 cars/trucks.
We're talking pre-66 except a 69 burb and a 70 C10. And all drivers except maybe 4. I like so many different things, that I get one I love and 4, 5, 6 weeks later, Im bored. And time to move on to the next.... So anyway, here's last weeks "flavor of the week" as my wife and kids put it.. It went to a good home.. On the hunt for its replacement

Hey grumpy It is not a disease, Just think that maybe you are a foster family, finding deserving homes for trucks after a little 4,5,or 6 week freshening up.

Re: Welp..My 63 Burb sold...
Fostering huh??!! Sounds right to me...
I only made it better. It had big ugly wheels and mud tires on it, and sat sky high, so I just added my style to it somewhat, and off it went. Today I bought the replacement. 1960 Chevy Brookwood wagon. 350/350, drop spindles, disc brakes etc. Slightly worn out exterior, but cool. My wife has wanted a replacement for the 59 Nomad wagon I sold 3-4 years ago. Thats the only car I ever owned that she cried when I sold it... She still reminds me. So the 60 will be a very similar build to what the 59 was. Heres the 59 just so you see where the 60 is headed. No pics of 60 yet. BTW, I'll still keep an eye out here. Love these trucks too.

Re: Welp..My 63 Burb sold...
Hey Tim, congrats on the sale.
I was looking at a wagon for the wife when I found our Burb. From the looks of your 59' that 60' will be killer. Better post some pic's with that polished camper in tow. I know what you mean about that "fostering". Our Burb sat at least as high as a 4wd, so high that I'm running what were the front tires out back. Give a vehicle a little "attitude" and it changes everything. BTW. My wife still wants a wagon too... |

Re: Welp..My 63 Burb sold...
Heres a crappy cell pic of the wagon, which turns out after some detective work and de-coding, is a 60 Nomad!!! Score!!
Plus already has drop spindles, disc brakes with booster/dual m/c... Dont laugh at the centerline wheels I hate them. I think I have them sold, and hope they will be out of site by the weekend. And if you look behind it, you'll sorta see the 61 Yellowstone. I dont wanna pollute this site with off-topic cars and campers, so this is the only pic. I'll still be snooping around here, looking over your shoulders. So be affraid, be very affraid

I like center lines on some rides, but they definitely don't fit that car.

I was looking for you friday night at Wexford. There had to be over 2000 cars there, and it was HOT out. I saw all your boys from RPM there.

We got there at 530 and walked it some, and left at 630. Too damn hot to walk that it all. Went to the new Sonic across the street and got back to pick my wife up from work. Its a 45min ride for me to get there. Thanks for the kudo's on the 60. Its getting hot, and I think its in the timing. Im hanking the points dizzy and going HEI. So we'll see what happens once it gets tuned.
