1960 chevy stepside and a 6.2
hello im in the process of putting together a 1960 chevy stepside and I got this one truck for free and it has a 6.2 diesel in it wit a 700r4 thinking bout putting it in the 60 wat u guys think and any other ideas would be nice

I'd like to see that. One of those 6.2's would be sweet. from what i hear they lack power. But thats just what i have heard.

I have a friend that has a Suburban with a 6.2 and that's what he says too.....they aren't much for power but they get pretty good mileage, around 20mpg. Of course he is a truck driver too, so it's hard to know what he calls 'not much power'
I say if it runs decent, go for it. Just be prepared if you need a starter or injection pump. Seems like they are $$$$$$$ I had thought about putting a 6.5 turbo diesel in my '66 C30, but haven't run across one for cheap.
