replacement master cylinder for a 63?
the master cylinder in the 63 went...
fortunately it wasn't when I was doing the dump run into town....unfortunately it was when my dad was backing toward a 66 gmc cab I just got ....SMASH!! Any way the 63's have kind of a funny looking smallish square master cylinder, and I am wondering if that is the only option to use on a 63... will the later 456's work, or is there something even cheaper than that ..chevelle/impala/belaire?? that might just bolt right on? |

I've not done it, but I don't see why you couldn't install one for a 456 since the firewall is the same from '63-'66. Is the specific one for a '63 more expensive?

I don't know yet, I am going to the auto parts store later today to find out....
on passenger cars , the 567 chev mc is something like 80-90$, but you can bolt a 64 chev one on there , and it is only 20$ |

Re: replacement master cylinder for a 63?
You can use a cheaper one from an Impala....66 and older is a single line style.
The firewall has the bolt hole straight across from each other.... Remember, I direct bolted one onto the "chief" Although, you can use the older single line style. You will need to extend the pushrod...but I think you can find someone to do that !!!
