im planning on buying the edelbrock 1406 pretty soon for my stock 350 (besides the edel performer intake i bought) and was wondering if anybody has ever bought one of the reman 1406 carbs?....are they any good?....i wouldnt mind saving a few dollars if it will be worth it...thanks

does that mean you are having problems with it?....where did you get it?....ive been looking at either a remaned one or maybe one on ebay...dont know

i got mine on ebay and saved about 100 bones. no i am not having trouble with it yet. i just got my truck running sience i rebuilt her. so i am still fixing a few things.

im having trouble figuring out weather to get a brand brand new one or a remand or one off of ebay or what...id hate to spend that kind of money foer a rebuilt one or used one or something and get shafted...even though you can save alot of money on a factory rebuilt one

that's the 9506-s right? 600 cfm?
I run that one - it's been a cinch to tune - no power valve to blow
pretty reliable

so yours is a reman carb too?....havent had too much trouble with it?...i want to go that way because of the savings,but what if it gives you problems?...do they any kind of warranty?...and what all does the reman come with?

i know i posted the wrong one . 19mike69 it came with every thing gasket ins book etc.. just was in a white box. did not have the fancy box with it. so i dont know what is better a reman or a new one. either way they are boty bran new well sorta of. both have gon throught the process one just did it twice lol

my boys truck was running like , let say bad with comp cam and Dart heads we picked up to near new edel 1406 for $125 and the truck ran like champ just needed to adjust the electric choke. very happy.

Just another one to let you kow I'm very happy with my 1406 , I've rejetted it and changed the metering rods , and it is 1000% easier to work on than the Q-Jet .JMOP

I bought a new 1413 edelbrock ran okay for a while until one of the needle and seats kept sticking, Edelbrock sent me two new sets, and the floats were set way low after I fixed all that It works great. As for a good air cleaner I have a k&n xstream setup and its great.

I've been running a 1406 for about a year now. Got it new tho ($214.), cause I was in a rush to get the truck going. Installed it, straight out of the box. Just needed a 12 volt wire for the electric choke. Don't forget to install a carb adapter, if you are running the spreadbore manifold. As for a good air filter, I'm using a 14" dia. K&N 5" tall, clears the hood very well. That one I picked up at a swap meet for $15 bucks. Good luck.

well i got the remaned 1406 on its way and went ahead and bought a performer intake.....i hope its not too much of a waste of money for this to go on a stock,older motor.....a friend of mine has the same carb and it wont work as good if he doesnt use the edelbrock intake,so i went ahead and bought one...

I bought the brand new 1406. When I saw the price of the remanufactured, 190.00, I figured 225.00 new was not a bad deal. Works great.
