64-66 Roddoors door panels
Does anybody have "Roddoors" door panels? My question is......do you need to take off the metal door panels (original) to install the ABS plastic ones from roddoors? Does the ABS door panels go on over the metal door panels? Thanks for your help! Here is the ones from roddoors I am talking about.

That's the first I'd seen those. Pretty cool. I was looking on their info and it says you have to trim them to make them fit, but I don't see whether they fit over or instead of the steel panels either. Have you tried contacting them?

Yes you have to remove the panels. I wonder if they changed their mounting process which really SUCKED!!. Mine kept flopping around and the only thing holding them on were the cheap azz door pulls they gave me. Some other guys have mounted them in a differnt way. The headliner would not stay on. A guy told me his fell down as a judge at a car show was looking inside his truck. Mine is acually screwed on. I didn't do it, someone else did it.

Re: 64-66 Roddoors door panels
Total crap. The product is ok, just the fasteners suck. If you look in the first picture up there that I posted the door panel is not curved like the door and it pops off. I was thinking about using a heat gun to heat up the plastic and bend it to shape. Or mount it and use a heat gun to take that shape.

Re: 64-66 Roddoors door panels
It looks nice though. Is there padding under the upholstery or did you just put upholstery over the door panels?

Re: 64-66 Roddoors door panels
it was glued to the panels. No padding. I am going to do it over in Leather.

Re: 64-66 Roddoors door panels
I tried locating some of these panels and couldn't, so I build my own. I used PVC plastic purchased at Tap Plastics and built edges on the sides to accomodate the bend of the door panel and used push pegs for a clean look to install them on the door. One piece glass is installed as well.
See more pictures on the progress on the door panels on the attached thread below. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=552896 |

Yeah, those panels look really nice 1966chevy. The styling matches the truck much better than the other ones pictured in my opinion.
