1975 BB Blazer advice
I have found a 1975 Blazer with a 454BB & a TH400 in it. The body is pretty straight and it runs OK. Might need a carb rebuild? Charcole canister is there but not hooked up? He says he has the A.I.R. pump? I think it is a mid 80's BB and all of the emmision stuff is off the engine. It has the EGR and plugs in the manifolds for the A.I.R. tubes still installed. I live in Maricopa county(Goodyear,AZ) and was wondering if it would be to much of a hassle to try to get it to pass emissions. The guy that has it for sale has it registered in Mohave county so there is no emissions for it in Mohave county. Mohave county is in northwest AZ. He is down here for work and should be gone by next month. I am pretty shure that 1975 was the first year for cats to be run? I need some opinions please. Didn't think to see if the cats were there.

Re: 1975 BB Blazer advice
i dont know if it matters but i had a california emissions '76 1/2 ton w/o cats... it shouldnt be to hard to pass visual inspection atleast. if it had an air pump on it from the factory then youll need that and the manifold tubes hooked up also. as for the canister you need to look at the frame rail and find the hard line that runs to the fuel tanks sending unit and get it hooked up. look closely at the top of the canister and it should say where the hoses go... like tank, pcv, carb, etc..

How strict are they on non stock motors when they test them? Big blocks didn't come in Blazers.

Re: 1975 BB Blazer advice
zrated, is it a 4x4 its not mentioned in your message, that determines the axel weight. I've owned 5-k5's and live in phoenix and never had trouble with emissions on them. Your 75 did not have cats if its a 4x4 so no worry. If you go on line you can find the emission requirements for our area, sorry I lost the address but its there. I believe all the requiements for emissions are based on the weight, 6500 lbs and over did not need cats, under did
