cfm for my 454?

i want to get another carb for my truck but i dont know what to go with? its a 454 with an edelbrock intake and hedman headers. everything else is stock, but i would like to add a cam a little bit later on. what cfm would be good for this engine?

if your going to pump it up a little down the road i would do with a holley street advenger 770 and jet it down that way you have room to grow.

I agree if its a daily driver get an electric choke as an add on for those cold mornings

if not a daily driver get the full double pumper version


either way you will have plenty of room to grow

carb shop around here uses this formula for max cfm

(cid/2)x(max rpm/1728)= max cfm

If you were to install a new cam, it will say on the cam card. A stock 454 will probably be about 4500. Not sure since I've never had a stock 454.
