Wheel bearings, seals etc.
I am going to be lowering my truck in my build thread and when I do it I want everything new on the steering, etc.
I want to buy all the bearings and seals for my front new spindles when they go on. I want good quality at a great price. Im pretty sure the Mcgaughy spindles will take OEM size bearings. Maybe someone can confirm this. DOes everyone recommend running to NAPA to get some bearings? anyone recommend anything |

Re: Wheel bearings, seals etc.
The bearings should be the same as the stock ones for the new spindles. most parts stores sell the cheaper CHINA bearings and the more expensive and better quality USA made bearings

Re: Wheel bearings, seals etc.
You will use the stock bearings with the dropped spindles.
Call around and see who carries USA made bearings. Usually Carquest or Napa have them.

Re: Wheel bearings, seals etc.
I was just wondering if anyone might have came up with or someone new saw this. Looking for the front wheel bearing number for the inner and outer bearing and seal number on a 2wd 1/2 chevy truck. That way I can go to my local bearing house and pick some up.

Re: Wheel bearings, seals etc.
This is correct. It is a universal number. If you give them this number at the parts store, they will give you 2 or 3 different manufacturer choices on each bearing. Buy the most expensive ones. I bought Federal Moguls (Moog engineered) for around $10 each. They may also tell you an A 6 is correct for your inner, but that is for regular duty brakes and too small. If you are going to a local manufacturer, I would think they would go by this number as well. If they don't, buy the cheap $3 bearings at Autojoke and take them in so they can match it up.
The part number on the inner seal is 8871. It presses in on the back of the rotor very easily....almost by hand.

Re: Wheel bearings, seals etc.
What are you wanting then ? Those two numbers will buy your bearings in any parts store. Parts guys don't speak bearing numbers, they speak common part numbers. That number will work at any mom and pop store, O Reilly, NAPA, or Autozone.

Re: Wheel bearings, seals etc.
right, and if I go a place like Bearing Belt and Chain i can give them a bearing size number and purchase my bearings. Since I am not, and will not be paying three times the price at napa I was wondering if anyone knew the bearing number. Ill purchase them, supply everyone with a bearing number and make it handy for everyone....... I would have thought someone would have done that already.

Not sure what you are asking or wanting. You can go to most all Bearing Mfg's sites and get the numbers. either through a search or a pdf file. I will give you the numbers for the bearings but you can look them up yourself its easy , I will look them up for you |
