New truck, 72 Chevy c/10
Don't think I did too bad for $500. Short bed, 250/3speed. I need to borrow a trailer and go get it yet. What do you think?

Re: New truck, 72 Chevy c/10
It looks like it has a lot of potential. Once you get it home and go thru it better you will know what you really have ahead of you.
Shortbeds are hard to find around here. Good luck with your new project. Danny

Re: New truck, 72 Chevy c/10
I'd say you made out well. The overall rust condition will tell the real tale. The pics don't look too bad. Mine is worse than that.

I think even if you bail on it you'll be able to get your money back. You did good for that price.

Thanks Everyone. I'm really excited to get started on this project, but its going to be at least next weekend until I can go get it.

Maybe for a little while. I'm going to do my best to keep it a driver while I'm working on it, but then once all the body work is done it will get a nice paint job. |

Re: New truck, 72 Chevy c/10
Bogalusa, LA ~90 miles The guy said I can borrow his trailer, but then I'd have to make two trips to take the trailer back. One of my coworkers has a trailer if not renting a trailer for a day shouldn't be too much.
I made a little headway. I rebuilt the carb this weekend and priced getting a new windshield + installed=$190 and a few other small parts to make it run. |

71-72 GMC 250/3 OTT coil rear wood bed, gas tank out of a newer vehicle in the bed. Was on the road about 2 years ago. Here are the pics I have of it, if you want more just let me know. He's asking $300 with different rims. This guy has 9 67-72 and I'll try to get pics of them all.

Re: New truck, 72 Chevy c/10
Time for an update: Got the truck home and got some work done. Cleaning it out i found some nice and a lot of not so nice surprises. Nice, the seat belts look like they have never been used still warped in plastic....but dirty from being under the seat.
And the not so nice, found a lot more rust..... The bed which was full of junk/ dirt/ whatever is pretty bad and when I took the windshield out i found some bad rust in the roof. I started a thread about it in the paint and body section asking for advice, Please help me out! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=377183 Since my gas tank was shot I went ahead and installed a blazer tank. I still don't have the filler hooked up due to 1 1/4 fuel hose being hard to get, I finally found a boat store that could order it and it will be here Tuesday . I also sanded/primed the tailgate i got from 1sik52 and got it on, soon the entire truck will be flat black while I work on it. |
