sorry, another exhaust ?
I'm going to have my exhaust done like factory. New y-pipe & single cat, muffler & exit behind the rear tire. This is setup it has now but in 2". I want to go with all 2.5". Will I loose any power hooking it to the stock manifolds wich are 2" "I think"? Or would 2.25" be better? It a stock 350. TES headers are pretty much out of the question do to funds. Thanks.

You want be able to hook up 2.5" pipes directly to the manifolds. 2-1/4" is it. You can run 2.5" but you won't gain anything over the 2.25" with the manifolds. Your exhaust will only flow as much as the smallest restriction.

Not to disagree with Capt, but I would go with 2.5, since it is single exhaust, you can most definetely use it. This is coming from someone who has fought the loosing battle of single exhaust. My feeling is the 2.5" will help, even if you do only have 2" exhaust manifolds.

OOPS!, missed the single part! In that case, 2.5 would be fine after the Y pipe. I am going with 2.25" off the manifolds and mergine into a 3" on my Jimmy.
