ls engine swap
I just got a complete 4.8 out of a 2007 GMC Sierra to put in my 56 Cameo. What are you guys doing for a radiator? Has anyone adapted the radiator and fans from the donor vehicle to a task force truck?
I talked to Jesse at wait4meperformance and I am going to send the harness to him. I see others on this site have used him and thought he was alright. |

Re: ls engine swap
The truck radiators are too wide without a custom core support. I also have an LS camaro radiator and it is also too wide to fit very well. I am thinking of trying to use a bolt in aftermarket aluminum replacement intended for SB chevy and try custom hoses. If anyone has a better idea I would also like to know about it...

Re: ls engine swap
Here is my setup, 5.3L from 2002 Silverado. Aluminum rad that mounts in factory location, hand made shroud and electric fan.

Re: ls engine swap
Did you take the crossmember out of the truck that the engine was in originaly? I am about to start my Resto on my 56 Short Step Bigwindow and I am going to put a 6 Liter and a Kenny Bell Supercharger on it. The big question is how does the engine mount to the frame? Thanks for any insight or help you can give with this.

Re: ls engine swap
No I didn't get the crossmember for the truck. my truck has a GM clip in it with stands on the crossmember for a smallblock motor mount. I don't know whether to use the adapter plates to mount the LS or redo the stands to use the stock LS mounts. Any suggestions?
