1977 vs. 1984 Suspension
Wondering if the lowering kit from a 1984 shortbed would fit on a 1977 longbed???? Shakles, shock extenders, leaf pack, blocks, U bolts, springs, swaybar etc....

Re: 1977 vs. 1984 Suspension
Spindles will likely be different (1" and 1.25" rotors), and there are two different length leaf springs...other than that, most should be interchangable.

Re: 1977 vs. 1984 Suspension
No spindles included, just 3 inch lowering springs. So the leafsprings wont fit from a short onto a longbed?

Re: 1977 vs. 1984 Suspension
The length of the bed has nothing to do with it (as previously mentioned, there were two diff length available)...you will have to measure to be sure.

Re: 1977 vs. 1984 Suspension
Bingo! An easy way is to look and see where your rear hangers sit on the frame. If they are tight to the bumper brackets, you have the long springs...if there is about 4" between the hanges and bumper brackets, you have the short springs. Measuring is always best, but this will tell you easily as well.

Yes, but it is a PITA. They are riveted on.

Re: 1977 vs. 1984 Suspension
They will both physically fit, but you'll have to relocate the rear hangers if you change the length of the springs in your truck.

Re: 1977 vs. 1984 Suspension
Should. The only thing is the sway bar...if both trucks have one, then easy...if your truck doesn't, you will need to remove the mounts on the donor (they are riveted on).
