These won't play CD's but they do have ipod and usb inputs. It may run a CD changer but I'm not sure.

Re: In dash CD player, whats available?
I've got a Highlighner headliner replacement. You can put any single din stereo in it. I think they run about $300 from LMC or JCWhitney and they come with 4 speakers (not very good speakers, but replaceable). I still have an 8 track player/cb combo in the factory spot.

I have a Dodge version of that sitting in my garage out of a Dodge Tradesman 300. Antenna and all.

Re: In dash CD player, whats available?
I could be wrong, but I don't think mine is a factory GM product. I think it is late 70's or early 80's aftermarket. It looks like it belongs though.

What's up with your heater/AC control panel? I've never seen one like that.

Re: In dash CD player, whats available?
It's like a shiny carbon fiber looking material that my uncle had put on back in the 80's. It's also around the headlight switch. I can't stand it. I'm searching for a stock replacement panel.

Re: In dash CD player, whats available?
I think it's kind cool. Any idea as to what he used and how he did it?

No idea. I'll look closer when I get a chance. If I find some nice factory panels, I'd be happy to send them to you.

Re: In dash CD player, whats available?
Mine doesn't have AC, but I bet I could make it work with a little fabrication.

Re: In dash CD player, whats available?
I'm actually working on covering my original dash bezel pieces with diamond plate decal vinyl. I don't have pics yet but I bet you can peel yours off with a little heat from hair dryer or heat gun.
I also used to run a 10disc cd changer in my old c10 that I will soon be installing in the suburban. so no cutting of the dash is required because the cd changer hooks right into the antenna so the original stereo is pretty much not used anymore but thieves would never know the difference. |
