Just bought a 52
I just bought a 52 3100 truck that is in pieces. I know a lot about the 67-72 trucks as I just got done with my blazer.
I have a few questions because I don't know alot about these trucks. It already has the subframe done to it but the PO doesn't know what it came off of. I know it's GM and it has a sway bar for the links(don't know if that'll help or not). My question is does anybody have a link to some info about suspension with the subframe. How low will it sit and so on. I appreciate it.

Hey Bryan,...
Do you have any pics of your new purchase. Maybe some pics of the front suspension will help identify it.

Re: Just bought a 52
Also can you discribe the subframe and how it was installed? Is the steering box in front of the front tire, or behind it? Does it extend under the frame or but into the frame? How wide is it? Also pics would help alot.

Re: Just bought a 52
Congrats Bryan. I don't know if this will help you on ride height, but here's pics of a 54 that I sold earlier this year. It has a Camaro front clip that was butt installed....
and this is what ride height it had (close to stock height)....

Check out http://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php they have specs on different suspensions that might help.

Re: Just bought a 52
I don't have any pics, big mistake on my part. The frame is continuous though it's not on the outside like that one. I'll try to get some pics, where I bought it is an over an hour away. Another reason why I should have taken pics
Also any info on how to install an automatic in these. One thing that didn't come with the truck was a steering column, but I'd like to put a TH350 in it. Don't know what columns interchange.

Re: Just bought a 52
does it look like the subframe has been welded is it clear of the subframe or is it possible that it could be an s10 swap?
