My 85 K10 has 31x10.5's that are going to need to be replaced pretty soon. Its got a 2 inch lift on it, so I'd like to throw some 32's on it this time around. My problem is gearing though. Its got stock 3.42 gearing according to the glovebox, and I'm wondering if these bigger tires are gonna hurt my 700r4..I know it will be slower, but how much slower? It gets around alright i guess as of now, its got a crate 350 with headers, but I cant afford front and rear gears right now. So, its either stick with new 31's which imo look dumb/ too small or step up a size and deal with the lack of performance, what do yall think?

you wont notice a differance with such a small increace, if your ar happy with how it work now, youll be fine with it with new meats.

Yup, that is not enough of a diameter change to cause you a problem. If you are happy now, it will be fine.

I had a 92 Blazer with about the same drivetrain as yours, put 32s on it and went down the road decent. Truck had 200k on it, so might have been little tired.

The change isn't drastic and the 700R4 has a deep 1st gear ratio - you won't notice the difference. I did the exact same change once on an '83 Blazer and loved the new look without noticing any performance loss.

I've got 33" Firestones, a TH400, and 4.11:1 rear gears. WISH I had the 700R4 for highway! With a crate 350, you should be fine.
Do you drive highway mostly, or do you want to race light to light?

Thanks, it never gets on the highway as of now, its just an around town cruiser but that could change in the coming months.
