Re: best way to go 4x4
Frame is basically the same for 1/2's and 3/4's. If you can't find a frame of your vintage, I would try looking at the 73-87 frame. 35"s are fine with 1/2 ton, but 3/4"s would be better if you should ever get the need to go bigger. Trevor

Is there much of a weight difference between 1/2T and 3/4T?

Re: best way to go 4x4
Nothing significant.Less than a passenger.The`73-ups are very plentiful.Measure your wheel base and go from there. Is yours long or short? If short and the later are too long, stretching a K/5 frame is another option.
