Hi all, I did a search but I did not find what I was looking for. My question to all is are the old style bushings any good, I have had some people tell me they swear by the grease(able) bushings and others that hate them, I do have a donor truck for the entire front suspension, I am curious as to the opinions here.

Are you talking about the steel bushings in the 67-72 a-arms compared to the rubber bushings in the 73-87 a-arms?

If you are talking about the control arm bushings, then heres what I have to say on them

The old style (greasable 67-72) I prefer, they dont give when under a load & they are smaller & you can grease them

The later 73-87 style I dont like (although I have plenty of trucks with em) they are bigger & I have never had a set of headers (including $600 hookers) that I didnt have to cut the crap out of the washer to get them to fit, plus they do give a lil under a load
The pros to the later IMO is that, for thos who dont care about handling & like ride smoothness, they are a lil better & you can get urethane bushings for them to stiffen them up some

I am asking about the 67-72 greaseable type, I am not sure if I want to leave the A arms I have with drop spindles or swap them out with the 77 arms I have with the urethane bushings. Can you rebuild the 67-72 type. Or do you need to. I am going to do the suspension first and I want as much info as I can get before I remove anything. I have done several vehicles in the past but most of them were not as clean as this one and I found out I was in way over my head, thanks to the info I get from this site I am going to do it right ad take my time.

Here is the truck I just picked up for 2800.00 I live in AZ and this truck has been here for the whole time.
