Talking LOOK>>>>>>>Final details on the Board Float trip

Ok, i just got off the phone with longhornjeff69. Here is the plan on the board float trip. It will be held on Friday, June 28, through Sunday the 30th, on the Current River near Salem, Missouri. We will be staying at a privately owned campground, Jason Place, near Akers Ferry on the river. On Saturday the 29th, we will canoe the river from the Cedargrove access to the Aker's ferry crossing, about 5 miles. The river is pretty easy to float, it should be easy to canoe it even if you have never canoed before. The river has lots of smallmouth bass, goggle-eye, sunfish, and even a few rainbow trout in it. There are a lot of clear deep holes to go swimming in. Anyway, it will cost $7 per-person-per night to camp at the campground, and a canoe rental is $40 per canoe per day. We need to reserve the campsites and caones ASAP before other people do. If we go ahead and reserve a group campsite, some people might not show up, and we will have to pay for their camping even if they aren't there. So this does not happen, you should reserve your own canoe and campsite in advance. The website is www.currentrivercanoe.com . They have a phone #, 1-800-333-5628. As far as food goes, there is a resturant at the campground, and a general store. It would be a good idea to bring some food that you would generally take on a picnic for eating on the float trip. Alcohol is not illegal on the river, but glass containers are.

Runs well... working on body.
Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend.
Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.

lol, nroden, it isn't gonna be a giant keg party or something. A few of the older people might bring some beer to drink on the river. Does anyone know if they are going or not?

Well, I think it's fair to say that I won't be going. Missouri is quite a ways away from me! My mother lives about 1800Km away from me, and that's a BIG ordeal for me to go! (I haven't seen her in a couple years now - but she's coming down for my wedding next month)

Have fun though guys!

I can't go but if you can you should! This is one of the most beautiful places in the world! I love floating and have floated the Cedar to Akers many times. Lots of Rainbows and Browns upstream a little at Tan Vat and Baptist camp Accesses. Look on the map. Go if you can. I am proud to be A Missouri boy, you'll know why if you go.

MAN oh Man,

This post has the hair on my neck standing staight-up !! I currently live in Northern Indiana. But I was raised 20 miles from the float trip sight !!! Floated tha t many times in the 80's !!! Back when both me and my wife could go topless and not be embarrassed ! I'm not sure if she would be embarrassed today, but I WOULD !!! lol

Let me check into the dates, sounds like a GOOD time !!!
