anyone put a 73-87 12 bolt in a 64-66?
i'm getting ready to put a '74 12 bolt in my '66 c20, my truck has t-arms and coils, the 12 bolt is for leaf springs. i'm thinking of buying one of the kits with a adj. track arm and tube mounts. are there other ways to do it using what i have (c20 pan hard, orig. rear end etc.) or are the kits the best way? any help or ideas from you who have done this would be great. pics too.

I put a 77 model rear into my 64. I just bought the saddles from ECE and used their Super Track Bar.

what's the best way to center it up so i know where to weld on the saddles? how do i figure out the pinion angle as my truck will be much lower than it sits now?

To center the rear end, just measure the same distance from say the backing plates to the saddles. For the pinion angle you want the pinion to be at the same angle as the trans output shaft at ride height.

the angle should be the same regardless of the height of the rear end? so i should determine the exact angle of the trans shaft and duplicate the angle on the rear, is that right?

The angle will change somewhat at different heights due to the trailing arms. Yes measure the exact angle of the trans output and make the pinion the same at ride height.
