are the motor mounts broke?
after getting my new edelbrock carb and intake on,it finally runs great except for one thing now......when i took it down the street it ran fine just driving sensibly....but when i stopped and kind of stomped on it the throttle stuck wide open and i had to turn the key off....when i did i could feel and hear a sort of bang.....took it home and looked at the linkage and its not anywhere close to anything to get hung on....took it out again...drove just fine til i stopped and punched it...almost felt like the pedal went to the floor the rest of the way by itself...and again when it let off you could feel a sort of bang in the front end.....my question is could the motoer mount be broke and be causing all this?....how do you check and see if one is broke?...and finally, what is the best way to replace them with the motoer in the truck?....its a 69 with a 350 btw....thanks alot

You can try putting a jack under the motor and then jack it up and watch and see if the motor lifts up off of the mount. This is also how you can change the motor mount if it is broken.

No problem.
Blame it on the added torque that the new parts gave you. It's BS, but it sounds good huh? |
