bought a new project!! 65 swb!
my dad and I bought this truck a few days ago. it currently has a 6cyl. with a 3 speed. we plan to drop in a 327, swap in an automatic trans, not sure which one and put some disc brakes on but have not decided which route to go on that. more than likely we will paint it later down the road. very clean with minimal amounts of rust!!
deffinatly needs a new door!!

Nice addition to the family and I see you got a matching barn to put her in! Before tearing into it, I would drive it and get some enjoyment out of it. You will find out the things you like or dislike by driving it and you can get some use out of it, before you take it off the road for the planned upgrades, especially since you live in the Pacific Northwest...drive it while the weather starts getting nice this spring and do the upgrades when the weather turns. I wish I lived by that suggestion in the past because I missed out on some good cruise nights, since my rig was on jack stands in the shop when the weather was nice.

looks good. Seems it started it's life as an orange truck. Probably with a white top.

I need to put it on the insurance and drive it to school and work. does anybody have a rough idea of the kind of gas mileage it might get?

thats a nice clean little truck you have there!drive the wheels off of it for awhile before you tear it down like lilred said.enjoy it some.a beater is neater than a pile of parts setting in the garage any day.
