283 w/headers

is anyone running a 283 or 327 and headers and alternator in stock position? if so could you post front and side pics of the alternator brackets thank you

I have 283 with headers and with the alternator in the stock position. I'll try to get some pictures for you. I know I had to buy a kit but it was years ago and....

Mr Gasket sells the brackets for mounting the alternator in the factory location. It is two piece assembly, sold seperately. Most auto parts stores carry them on the floor.

thanks for the info ive seen the brackets but im unsure how they mount up i was hoping someone on here might be running them and would be able to post pics

I had just put headers on my 64 with a 283 before I pulled it to start converting the truck to a mid ninities LT1. If you buy a good set of headers (i.e. Hooker or hedmen) they come with the brackets needed. One bracket is bolted in place by the first two header bolts and the alt and 2nd bracket bolt to that bracket. Its rather simple and holding the brackets in your hand the use and alignment are self evident.
