cab supports
I have to replace all four of my cab supports on my 68 Lwb. I found what i think are the Slip over style for the front supports in the box of my truck. should i go with the slip over style or the OEM.
Any pictures would be great. I also found Three cab corners in the box too. I was like Christmas! |

Re: cab supports
If I was going to do the job and keep the truck - I would weld in the appropriate cab supports to make sure the rust issues were resolved.
The slip ons don't address the rust that is still there and will eventually come back to haunt you or the next owner. Plus, you are already in there doing the work - take the extra time to do it the right way. |

Re: cab supports
The truck came with two front cab supports but they are slip on, NOt installed. Could i just cut the rust out of the old one and then use them?

Re: cab supports
Not really - the slip on types are a bit wider [so they could fit over the OEM supports].
Best bet is to get a set of regular 'weld on' type cab supports and then use those - you could even sell the slip ons to somebody to offset the cost of the weld on type. |

Re: cab supports
x3 the slip over style to me is just a basket to carry around the rusty original one in.
