60 chevy torsion bars

I was curious if any one knows if the torsion bars on a 60 chevy half ton will
support a blig block engine. Or should i look into upgrading to coils or do they make 3/4 ton torsion bars for the 60 - 62 3/4 ton or 1 ton trucks. Any input would be helpful.Thanx in advance.

Re: 60 chevy torsion bars

The '60-'62 C10's and C20's had torsion bar front suspensions. I've only seen one '60-'62 C30 and it had coil springs up front.

Installing a big block in a '60-'62 should just lower it a bit. If it is too low for you, then you can just adjust the torsion bars to raise it up to where you like it.
