installed lift shock struts on hood instead of the springs
I'm having my 67 all restored and i wanted to not have the springs on my new hood hinges so they were cut off and cleaned up so they don't look so bulky. The hood had to be modified with a piece of cold roll and some pre drilled holes with nuts welded to it. Then we had to just kinda guess were to mount the bracket to hold the other end of the strut to the inner fender and it seems that we guessed just right cause they clear everything and don't bottom out when shutting the hood.

Re: installed lift shock struts on hood instead of the springs
I've seen them installed with just the springs removed...interested to see them with the hinges trimmed down a bunch.
