Re: smooth roll pan and tag
Uh....make one? Some 18-20 Gauge metal from the hardware store, cut oversize the "depth" ya want the plate to "sink", then bend the sides using C-clamps clamped to a bench....unless ya have a freind with a sheetmetal brake....cut out yer pan for the new insert ya just made and weld the sucker in.....

Re: smooth roll pan and tag
I have mine in the window until I decide what to do with mine. Planning on the kit that slides it into to top of the bed rail, but it's not cheap so I may find the components and build my own.

Re: smooth roll pan and tag
The flip license plates are a great little item. They are on a lot of hot rods. But I have seen a couple things go wrong while using them. People air out on top of them without folding them first, either smashing or dragging them off. Or people getting pulled over for forgetting to expose them again before going down the road. Just something to keep in mind.

Re: smooth roll pan and tag
That would be my luck, I would forget to raise it and crush the tag. I've seen those and like them but I think I would have bad luck with that one. The one I want is $250 but I think I could make one for uder $100 easy and just have it go between the bed and cab or try to tuck it in the rail.

Re: smooth roll pan and tag
Just get the motorized flip one and have it activate when you turn on the key.

Re: smooth roll pan and tag
Well, My truck isn't bagged so I don't have to worry about rippin it off. But I will spend that $140 plus on something else since I have everything sitting out the the shop to throw one together in little over a hour.....

Re: smooth roll pan and tag
I've got the stuff to do an auto-flip down on my truck, but really don't have anyplace to put it where it won't look goofy when flipped down. I'm liking the Mustang idea that slide up.
I also have a Lexan window with the plate box in molded into it, but I'm not too big on that either. |
