Yet another front clip question

I currently own a 74 chevy as most know.

so i have the 73-80 "least areo dynamic style front end."
I wish to up-grade to the 81-87 style. YET KEEP MY GRILL CONFIG. AS IT IS NOW.
**By looking and reading lmc's part#'s-what year....

so. by the looks of lmc's pictures, it appears i would need:
2 81-87 fenders
1 81-87 hood

will i need??:
2 81-87 inner renders????

or can i even keep my 73-80 grill and all that the same??

thanks!!! (i searched, no results)

Re: Yet another front clip question

you have to change it as the entire front clip (hood, grill, core support, hood release set up, fenders) as far as anything I have ever been around. I know I dont know much so there may be a loop hole I have missed. Just dont count on it.

thats not the right head light bezels, turn signal, nor right grille for either year; head lights or fenders....
thats why it looks odd.

Re: Yet another front clip question

You do know that this is a backwards style step in most people's opinion, as the market is s**t hot for '73-80 box bodies right now, right? And the change to the 81-up clip would only be a negligible aero advantage

.............. but ----- its your truck -- i like both front end styles myself ---- but i personally wouldnt experiment with interracial inter-mingling of clips and bodies (except the '89-92 burb/blazer clip on mid to late 80's trucks -- or putting a 67-68 clip on a 69-72, but thats a different story)

Re: Yet another front clip question

well i guess its a good thing i dont care about most people opinion then huh?

read it again, im not looking for the 81+ FRONT CLIP.
im looking for the FENDERS only the fenders.
aaand the hood. because id have too. the only diff /w/ the hood is it is slightly less tall in the front. other than that, its identical to the eye, not the tape measure..
