1982 Standard Cab 2WD A/T Carpet Installation
Easy enough - standard cab automatic carpet install. Truck came with vinyl, but I've ordered carpet from Stock Interiors and prepped the truck today for the install.
Taking the bench out by yourself isn't easy. On a project like this, it's nice to have a good helper! The old torn worn factory vinyl. Small bit of rust under driver side door weatherstripping. All cleaned up and waiting for the carpet to get here! |

Re: 1982 Standard Cab 2WD A/T Carpet Installation
Got the carpet installed today. It ended up being pretty easy.
I got the molded carpet from Stock Interiors - ended up being ACC that they sent me. It's really nice carpet and the fit was superb. Used contact cement to put down the carpet in the front, but just used the seat to hold it into place in the back. The flash in the photos really makes the carpet look brown/purple, but it's the Charcoal color and it's perfect with the rest of the interior. I also took out the door trim and painted it glossy black. They look new now. |

Looks good, except for that little rust spot. I had an 82 s10 that had shag carpet in it. I ripped it out and it ended up having vinyl under it which looked and smelled alot nicer but it was just a work truck.
