Bolt in Bearclaw latches for AD's
Got an email last night regarding this new "kit", might be a good option for those with painted trucks that would like better latches:

Re: Bolt in Bearclaw latches for AD's
No, I'm most of the way though my bearclaw conversion already. I am keeping my turn down handles and have several ideas I'm kicking around, but I'd like to see what they've come up with. Looks like quality stuff from what I've seen of thier other products, and well worth the $$ for someone with a painted truck that wants doors that stay closed....and bolt in.
I emailed the company, and they don't provide provisions for locking from the inside with this. You'd have to add a manual lock or a solenoid for this.

I guess for a person like myself these would be the way to go.
It would save the cost of re-painting.

Re: Bolt in Bearclaw latches for AD's
Not inexpensive but all of us who have had to spend a lot of time figuring out how to get bear claws to work and or fit the doors can see the worth.
If you are paying someone else shop rate to install the old stye bear claw latches in your truck labor would eat the difference in price real quick. And something that can be swapped into already painted trucks without having to worry about repainting the door |

Re: Bolt in Bearclaw latches for AD's
i will definately post pics when they come in. I was reluctant about the price and thought about sticking with the stock latches but after having my truck on the road for about a month now and the distraction from a rattling door is driving me crazy. I bit the bullet and bought them.. I am soo ready to get them in and let yall know how they work out. By the way I am using the turn down handles

Re: Bolt in Bearclaw latches for AD's
did you buy the kit without the handles and just use the ones you have? I just bought new chrome handles for my truck and didnt know if you had to use the ones from their kit because they were made differently....didnt wanna spend that much extra for the handles kit thanks

Re: Bolt in Bearclaw latches for AD's
I ordered the same latches for my 50 gmc. Have not received them yet. I am thinking about putting a lock in the drivers side just like the passenger side so it can be locked.

Re: Bolt in Bearclaw latches for AD's
I do not believe it comes with handles. It is just made to work with your handles. We'll see when they come in though
