99+ Seats in a 65

I am thinking about putting the front seats from a 99 or newer Truck or Burb or Yukon into my 65. It appears to have bucket seats from a 80s Van in it now.

I have a 04 Yukon XL and like the front seats cause the middle one folds down and has the intergrated seat belts.

I measured the seats in my Yukon and measured the 65 to see if something like it would fit. Seems it will fit between the doors, but I forgot to measure to see if it would cause problems for the floor shifter.
I wouldnt mind doing a different shifter to make the seats fit.

Let me know if you got experiance with this.

Thanks,
John

Re: 99+ Seats in a 65

im currently working on putting on similar seats in my 66'. Mine are out of a 04' sierra and i like them for the same reasons you do. i have them just sitting in my truck now. width wise they are plenty fine. my shifter does rest on the center seat in 2nd and 4th gear. I also cant have the seat folded down or else it interferes majorly. but that will be fixed with a slight mod to the shifter arm... the only issue im having with these seats are they are quite tall. i have plenty of head room.. but im only 5'8". im even considering changing to a different type seat because of it. Are your seats power or manual? because the power seats i hear sit on a lower frame so they might not have as much head room issues

Re: 99+ Seats in a 65

I have power seats from an 02, my dad has manual from an 00, both are the 40/20/40 seats, they will fit just fine, however you will need to persuade the trans hump some to get them to fit properly though. not a big deal just a little on the front mounts. I really didnt notice the power/non power seat frame difference really, maybe I should go look....

The biggest thing that i noticed is the width of the seat puts you closer to the steering wheel...Not a biggie but you will definitely notice the difference

This is exactly the issue that is preventing me from using the '02 Yukon buckets that I bought for my '66. I'm 6'02" with a 34" inseam and the limited legroom has caused me to go back to the original bench. I really wanted to use those comfy late model seats!!

Is your truck a big or small window? If it is a bbw the height of the integrated seat belts looks out of place from the rear of the truck. I used the middle seat out of a mid to late 90's Tahoe in mine and it worked pretty well and looks fine through the window from behind w/o the headrests. I used shoulder belts from the same series truck.

Power seats out of a 99 Silverado. Had to do some mods to the center seat.
