sliding window question ?
is there more than 1 kind of sliding rear window?
I have been missing the pieces on the middle where the sliding glass latches, so I called lmc, and they didnt know if theirs would fit my window, so I went to the junk yard and after walking for a long long time on this cool wheater under the sun in south tx (+80). I couldnt find a single square body with the same style sliding rear window, I bought the latch piece anyways since it was only 6 bucks, but then I can home only to find out that the piece is about 1 inch too short any ideas,,,,, I wounder if the lmc latch system will work ????? any body had the same problem b4?\ thanks in adcanced....

Re: sliding window question ?
The stock sliding windows have a plastic latch that almost always fails kinda like the glove box hinge. If it is after market, it will be metal. You can carefully install a metal latch with some small screws.

Re: sliding window question ?
There were probably 100's of different companies making sliders for these trucks. It was very common to pop out the solid glass and put in a slider, was a very popular add on or upgrade.

Re: sliding window question ?
thanks guys... I do have a one piece glass... but really want the sliding one... just gets very annoying having the open gap in the middle, and the piece I bought today is a little too short so its still annoying to see the gap lol...

Re: sliding window question ?
It is usually easier to just purchase a new slider and get the widow update with the new latches.
