hey i wana put a flame thrower on my exhaust and i was wondering how the best way to go about that would be

Hey, I just put one on my truck last week. I got it from www.gotflames.net. It was the cheapest kit I could find online = About $80. It is AWESOME!!!!. I got about 3-5 foot flames w/ a 2 barrel 307. Quite amazing actually. Really for $80 the kit is quite a rip off for what comes in it, but whan i saw the look on my friends faces (and those ricers too) it was well worth it. have fun and good luck

I belive the kit used trucks was made by autoloc. apx $100 from them i think. You supply your own coils plugs and wires.

Autoloc has it for 125.99, I have it for 101.67.
The kit includes control box, activation button, wire loom, and wire diagram. Please note the kit does not include the 2 coils and 2 spark plugs needed for installation.

i would do it if tail pipes went out back, in my opinion-thats the only reason exhaust should ever be seen. 69mychevy has it on his, its a white 4x

do it the old fashioned way with a spark plug, wire, and push button switch i had that on my 65 short step with 18 wheeler stack pipes it was bad ass

use heli-coils on the exhaust, but as someone said already check out www.truckstv.com they show everything... on a ( i think ) 56 chev p/u hotrod

Bringing an old topic back to life!! Does anyone have a diagram or pics of what you need to install a flame thrower kit?? I'm sure it wouldn't be to hard to round this stuff up locally.

ok - call me a woman or somethin, but are you people actually talking about flames coming from your exhaust?!? i am not a hot-rodder, so i have never seen or heard of this. are the flames visible all the time? or do you push a button, and somethin fires, and causes the flames to appear? what exactly are you talkin about, cause it sounds mighty interesting to me! i think i remember somethin like this in the movie "Grease" - but i thought that was just movie-effects. can trucks actually do this? (hmmm - i DO have dual exaust pipes

)

ya the simple way of doing it but not the most efficiant is wiring a spark plug to your exhaust and you push a button the make a spark and out comes flames

yep,,my dad usta run them when he was a kid,,you put a small wire inside the boot of one of your spark plug wires,then push it onto the spark plug,,,,,run that wire thru the fire wall to a simple switch /push button, continue the wire along the frame rail to the back of the exhaust,,,,drill a hole in the end of the exhuast pipe,put a spark plug in the hole with a nut, attach that wire to the top of an old spark,,,every time you press the button it allows spark to run to the back of the car,,,,,instant flames as long as you hold down the button,,,,,it ignites the UNBURNED fuell in the exhaust,,,instant flames........now they sell a kit for$80, they usta do it for $5.00 for everything,,,jeff
