Help with deciding!
Do these rims look alright on my truck?
Anything I should do to my truck besides repainting it? Thank you, Anything will be appreciated. So far the only things me and my dad have done to this truck is tint, wheels, and new air filter. This is my first vehicle, so anything you guys say is appreciated. Thank you. Looks sharp from the pics! I always wanted those wheels when I had my 70 LWB.

Beautiful truck, I just prefer a bit less wheel and a bit more sidewall. And from NorCal!

I think its a sharp looking truck and it looks like most of the hard work is done. I think those rims look pretty good on it. I agree with losing the diamond plate and the sticker on the back window, but that's just personal opinion. Just have fun and enjoy it! There are many of us on here that wish our trucks were drivable right now, let alone looking like yours!

Re: Help with deciding!
Dude, if you're "friends" are giving you S about your truck it's only because they are jealous. Simple as that.

Welcome, I'm not usually a fan of the larger rims, but those look pretty nice on your truck...

Re: Help with deciding!
I don't like IROC rims but those look sweet on your truck. The stance is perfect IMO. I would not change a thing, except . . . maybe . . . stay away from diamond plate.

Re: Help with deciding!
They look pretty good to me. They look pretty flush with the rear wheel openings though, so if you plan to lower it very much be sure you measure carefully. but maybe thats me, because I havent owned anything in the past 10+ years that I haven lowered . Looks good though!

Re: Help with deciding!
What a nice first vehicle. Be sure to thank your dad profusely. You're very blessed to have such a supportive father. My first vehicle was a puke green 71 Mustang that looked like it had rolled down a hill. I had to weld up a new complete quarter panel, patch the other, weld up the rusty taillight panel and replace a front fender and the hood. Spent most of my free time (after doing my homework, of course) from 12 years old to 16 years old building it. Drove it to highschool for 2 years and then it was stolen out of my folks' driveway one night. Probably in TJ now or maybe chopped up.

Re: Help with deciding!
Personally larger size rims are not my first choice but if they are larger they gotta be 5 spoke ones just like yours!
BTW My first vehicle is a 71 GMC Custom Long box, wish it was a short box! Last edited by geemcee; 04-29-2010 at 08:11 PM. |

Re: Help with deciding!
Welcome to the board!
I'm a guy that prefers the the stock look, but your rig looks good to me if that's the look YOU are going for. If I had to really piss about anything on your rig? Lose the diamond plate, and the sticker on the back window. Other than than that, it has a nice stance which I like. Heck, a great stance can make any wheel look good... BTW, I am just South of you. I'm in the Temecula/Murrieta area.

Believe me, I did that and it drove me nuts that my Dad acted like he wasn't interested. It's a huge blank canvas to paint on with personal touches, so you want to really put some educated thought into what you "really" want. Right now I'd be soaking in the whole thing, since you already have a very cool truck as it is.
