Dino's a nice guy!
Went to Phoenix in the beginning of April, and stopped in at Dino's Appliance, 'cause I'd read his crewcab build here. Met Dino and told him I had two 64 Chevy pickups - a short box and a long box. Really nice guy. Took time out of his day to talk trucks with me for a bit, gave me a "Chevy only" sticker, and told me about the "Once every six months" cruise on Central Saturday night. We went to Central Saturday night and had a great time. Saw Dino's crewcab go by once, but didn't see it again. Tons of nice vehicles in every build style imaginable, from 4x4 Limousines (!) to lowriders to race cars. We had a great time! Thanks, Dino!!

Re: Dino's a nice guy!
Thanks for the compliment likaroc. The truck's at an indoor car show this weekend. Re the stance, it was a little "Tail up" for me. I've added 2 1/2" lowering blocks and the rear wheelwell now sits just above the rims. Wheels and tires are 285/70-15's on the back, and 225/70-15's (I think) on the front. With the cut front and lowered rear springs, and lowering blocks, the rear tires take major surgery to get out of there! Get a flat, call a tow truck.

I guess I am just old school but the stance of your truck in the picture you posted is PERFECT. Thanks for posting.... the truck is way cool. Something just so right about simple black and white. Last edited by lakeroadster; 05-01-2010 at 07:39 AM. |

Re: Dino's a nice guy!
I'll take a photo of the way it looks now, and put it up. In this photo it looks OK, but if you had seen it in person, or rode in it, it had way too much rake for so short a truck. Remember when we used to buy air shocks and put about 100 psi in them so the big tires would clear because they stuck out? Like that. Good gas milage from always going downhill!

Re: Dino's a nice guy!
....thats funny!! I always found too much rake really gets the front end bouncing and plowing. You're right, Dino is a nice guy

Re: Dino's a nice guy!
beautiful truck. I agree with you on having to much rake. I bet it looks great sitting more level to the ground. Just a matter of opinion I guess..

Re: Dino's a nice guy!
Here's two shots from this weekends indoor car show. Sorry about the stantion and ropes in the way. For you guys from the southern States, the odd Plexiglas topped wall is from something called a "hockey rink" where heavily padded men on "ice skates" get into fights over a small rubber disc called a "puck". Stupid sport.

Re: Dino's a nice guy!
The car show was great! Our club, the Manitoba Street Rod Association puts it on every spring. We had 108 cars this year. Its an old style car show.No bikes, no ricers, not much newer than 1972, and a big percentage of the cars were driven in,in the rain. I think we got a little over 3000 paying spectators this year. Proceeds eventually go to the Rehabilitation Center for Children, a hospital for disabled kids. Here's some pics.....
