wheel adapters
ok so ive got a 86 4x4 and im a broke 19 year old. i picked a set of used goodyear wrangler MTs and the only problem is that theyre for 16 and my current rims are 15s. does anyone know where i can pick up a set of wheel adapters to run late model chevy 6 lug on my truck? because they are plentiful and easily found in 16s where as early model 6 lug 16s seem to be impossible to find other than the cheap cragars from summit racing. yall have any ideas for me? thanks

The bolt pattern is the same, but the center opening on the newer wheels won't fit over your front hubs. You would need aftermarket wheels.

i thought the late model 6 lug was a smaller bolt pattern? looks like summit racing here i come.

welp solved my problem. found me some trailer rims off a car hauler, 16in, 6 lug and 50 bucks for all 4. may have to do some grinding around the hubs to get mine through but im told it'll work

I wouldn't grind. I had a set of Ford rims on my jeep that someone ground the middle to fit over the front 4x4 hubs, and it appears to significantly affect the strength of the rim.
Also, I just got a wheel spacer to mount my spare, and they specifically say that need re-torquing every 4000 miles, and that they have ONLY a 2 year life before they need replacing. This is ridiculous for what they cost. As noted above, buying wheels would be more effective and they run about $70 each for 16x7. I bought a set of Z71 rims for my 69 short step which is how I found out the center hole was too small.

ok ill be honest i underestimated yall. i went ahead and tried the trailer rims but luckily before i started grinding i did some back spacing measuring, luckily i didnt spend the time grinding cause its way off. ill order my rims from summit this payday friday. from now on i promise to listen to yall
