lowering springs

I recently installed 3 inch drop springs on the front of my 66. It did not lower it at all. Thier from classic performance products. Is there a better brand?

Sounds like your original springs were already sagged a lot so the new drop springs didn't net you any lower. Very common.

that sounds familiar, my original springs were sagging like Joan Rivers body....

I bought the 3" front springs and 5" rears from cpp and they lowered my 63 about an inch in front and 5 1/2 in the rear. I was happy with the drop in the rear but not so much with the fronts, so i ended up taking them back out and cut one coil off and got it about 2 1/4 inches lower for a total of about 3 1/4 up front. If i had it to do over again i'd cut the original springs down in front starting with one coil and then about a half a coil at the time until i got it down where i wanted it, and save the money i spent on the front springs for something else.

The stock coils weren't sagging. I wish I had a pic of it to post.

I picture is worth a thousand words and you have no pic so lets have a couple thousand words of what they looked like?

well ive got 235/75/15 tires on it wich by no means are a short tire.Ive probably got 6-8 inches between the tire and fender well. from all the trucks ive seen on the web and in person it looks stock. It looks nothing like tx firefighter's truck. i have 4 inch drop springs for the back i have not installed because the truck is pretty much level right now. The rear would actually sit lower than the front.

Unless the spings taken out were somewhat new, they were sagging

Are the springs properly seated in the pockets? It might be something to double check
