Wheel back spacing and drop spindles issue

I wanted to get some drop spindles for my TF and while researching I saw that the recomended wheel back space is 3.5", is this correct? I have a 71 camaro subframe and wheels are 4.5" BS, Will I have issues if I get the drop spindles?
