Big Block ignition timing
I need some help with ignition timing. Its a 462 10 to 1 compression oval port heads with big valves .590 intake .610 exhaust camshaft single plane intake holley 780 MSD HEI. Current timing is 15 initial 36 total. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That should be in the ball park. Just listen out for any detonation while driving and if you are getting any now you may want to try it at 34 degrees total with vacuum advance disconnected.

Both my big blocks seem to love about 18* initial and 36* total.
