Bed Disassemble Help
I'm starting to take the bed apart and I have a questions. I would like to take the fenders off and I noticed that it looks like it's welded to the support that runs across the back under the tail gate. Do I need to cut this weld and is it welded any where else?
Thanks This is the weld |

Re: Bed Disassemble Help
Those are the Factory welds I have seen it on the three beds that I have disassembled
So, yes you need to cut those welds. There should also be a weld on the vertical just below where that one is on both sides and those should be the only welds in the rest of bed, unless someone has welded it in another location. |

Re: Bed Disassemble Help
Yup- I ground the welds in those locations off when removing the bed of my 66.

Re: Bed Disassemble Help
Yes those welds need to be ground/cut out. Don't forget that there are 2 bolts underneath there as well.
