replace I6 with 350ci?
hi guys, I just bought a 77 3/4 2wd with an inline 6 (230ci i think) and sm465 tranny. I want to put a 350ci in it. I need v8 motor mounts (will 67-72 motor mounts work?) but what else do i need? Do I need different driveshaft? Thanks for any help. CoryM

I did this swap 1n 97.believe me this is not as easy as it looks. the six you have is 250.
you ccan use the starter, alternator and the p/s pump. that is it. you will need new motor mounts. you are going to need a bunch of pieces. this is not a very difficult swap but can get expensive.best best is too e-mail me and tell me exactly what you plan to do and how. i then can help you plan the best way to do it also need to know how your truck is equipted (p/s ac etc). roland26@swbell.net |

I put a 350 in place of a I6 in a 79 3/4 ton and used the I6 frame towers with a 4 speed and such. Didn't have to move the tranny or anything and used all the normal V8 brackets and stuff. Was real easy and all worked fine. Did it when I was almost 16 y/o. Damn that was 10 years ago. I feel old now. I had no problems with my swap I wouldn't think yours would be much different.
