Wink Please no more hijacking

I've had a long hot day so I am going to take it out on this forum . It seams like there are a lot of new faces around especially in this Blazer section, which is awesome! HOWEVER, I have been seeing a lot of hijacked threads over the last few weeks and for some reason it rubs me the wrong way. If someone starts a thread asking about something or wanting an answer, please don't jump in and ask for something different just because it is in the same ballpark. In other words, (and this is totally just a made up example) if someone posts a picture of an off the wall transfer case that is in their blazer and asks questions about it, please don't jump in and say "Hey I have a transfercase too, why is mine painted pink blah blah blah etc etc?" Now if your reply is directly related to the orignal post, then get after it, post away.

I'm not trying to be an @ss or anything, I love this forum because it is made up of friendly people who genuinely want to learn and help, including myself. The reason I am posting this is to try and keep the threads somewhat neat and concise and possibly save some aggravation for the original poster.

I was new here once as well and made my share of replies that I shouldn't have, just trying to keep things running smoothly around here. So run a search, look through old threads, and then start your own if you don't see an existing answer.

Moderators, I hope my little commentary isn't crossing any lines. rant off...

can anyone tell me how much a double wall top weighs? oh and how do i replace rockers and rusted floor pans?

i keed i keed. sorry man....i had to. i gotta say....you're not alone on that one. it hasn't happened to me much here cuz i don't post all that much but it is frustrating to start a thread...see that there are responses only to go see that it's two or three people talking amongst themselves.

Re: Please no more hijacking

I hear what you are saying. Its so easy to start a thread of your own when you have a question and chances are you will get better response if you dont try to piggy back on someone elses.

Another area that chapse me is when you post a WTB thread and people chime in...Oh Im looking for one of those too, if he doesnt want it...or put me in line. So when I post a WTB I ask for responses to only be done by Pm to avoid hijack city...This is ok to do in WTB's only, I asked board moderator to be sure.

It's not production.

All of the T cases were a natural finish.

Re: Please no more hijacking

As long as we are on the subject of hijacking and the Feds knocking on the door, I will tell a little story. A couple months ago, the Feds literally knocked on my door at about 8pm. My wife opened it and they asked who we were. I was like, "You came to my house, don't you know who we are???" Then they proceeded to let themselves in and it was just like in the movies, they were all looking around, peaking into every room they could from the front walkway by my front door. They stuck there head into my wifes office and saw boxes of syringes (she's a medical sales rep) and that REALLY made them start asking questions! Turns out a boat that we had sold years ago ended up in the hands of a drug runner in the Gulf of Mexico. We had it on consignment at a local boat shop and whoever this guy was bought it with cash and had it licensed under a false identity so the last reliable owner info was us. Apparently the Feds don't like that! Turns out they thought WE might have been the ones who registered it illegally and then ditched it on a failed drug bust or something. Then when they saw the boxes of syringes in the house, that really didn't help the situation! The whole thing was straight out of an episode of CSI.

What is a mispost exactly??? Is it when you try to post something and you spill Mountain Dew on your keyboard before you can hit "Submit Reply" and the whole thing goes up in flames before its able to make it's journey through the interwebs???

Its when you start a thread in the wrong section.

BTW I agree with the hijack issue, but a Miss Liz said... they are correctable.

Well, when Emily Post was very young, before she got into etiquette, and before she got married, she was a Miss Post

Sorry should've multi-quoted, but that is off topic. Is that the same as a hyjack?
