Got my bumpers back from the chrome shop!

With new twin boys, a 2 1/2 year old, and a honey-do list a mile long...truck time has been zilch! However, I did have a chance to drop the bumpers off at the chrome shop recently...and here they are!

Keystone Automotive in Brainerd MN (Bumper division) did these...and not only is their end product absolutely perfect, their customer service was top notch. I was told eleven weeks to get these finished (they are BUSY!), but Howie (the guy who helped me) and I hit it off when I dropped them off, and he got them back to me in four weeks. Pretty sweet. If you need any bumpers chromed, this is the place to go!

Anyhow, just thought I would share an update since it has been a while.

Re: Got my bumpers back from the chrome shop!

Did they do the shaving of the bolts? Can you give an ideal of what they might charge per bumper.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

The shaved bolts look trick, Jeff. I had mine redone too, but they are just stock bumpers.

Re: Got my bumpers back from the chrome shop!

Those are nice Jeff! My cousin removed the bolts on the bumpers of his Camaro. It's one of those little subtle mods that really make people scratch their heads.

Re: Got my bumpers back from the chrome shop!

Thanks for the compliments fellas!

Keystone did ALL the work. They welded the bolts, filled in the two factory holes at the bottom of each bumper, and did all the body work. These are what they call their "show chrome" finish...top of the line.

My total out the door was just over 8 bills...but that was with a 20% discount.

The welding of the studs and holes was $150 add'l per bumper.

These are the kind of mods I love, subtle and clean.

Thanks again guys.

Thanks for posting, Jeff.

I'd like a full durability report, too -

Re: Got my bumpers back from the chrome shop!

awesome, shaved bolts are a nice touch but chroming them afterwards instead of paint takes it to another level. Exactly the same thing I plan to do on my 81-87 bumpers. Beautiful, very nice job.
